Warm Winter Vacations USA – Maui, Hawaii

Looking for that warm winter vacation within the USA that is guaranteed to bring you some warm temperatures, then Hawaii is for you. Several years ago I took a two-week trip visiting four of the Hawaiian Islands. I can tell you that I fell in love with the island of Maui. So much so that I considered moving over there. This is a place that you can visit and leave your heart behind. With 30 miles of beaches and dozens of different towns it’s no wonder that Oprah Winfrey, Clint Eastwood or Willie Nelson, just to name a few, have homes on the island.

Historical Town of Lahaina

Lahaina

This Historical town has become the entertainment center of the West side of the Island. Their famous Front St is filled with restaurants, shops and art galleries. Plan on being there for sunset, where you can enjoy some of the best oceanfront dining on the island. Including oceanfront luaus. This is also a great location to board a charter to go diving or snorkeling.

Haleakala National Park (House of the Sun)

Haleakala is a volcano that rises 10,023 feet above Maui’s coastal area. It has become a popular destination among visitors especially to view the sunrise. This windy 38 mile drive is considered to be the worlds steepest route from sea level to 10,000 feet. The visitor center at the summit offers wonderful views of the surrounding areas.

Haleakala National Park

Just be cautious because the temperature at the summit is much cooler. They can even get snow in the winter. So be prepared and bring some warm clothes with you.

Road to Hana

This drive offers black sand beaches, lush Taro and Sugar Cane Fields and plunging waterfalls. On the way to Hana you will travel South Maui’s rugged lava coastline through 617 curves and 54 one lane bridges. If your the adventurous type you may want to rent a car and do the drive yourself. Taking your time discovering the tropical rain forests, bamboo jungles, waterfalls, tropical streams and pools, spectacular cliffs and the jet black sand beach. Be advised that not all rental agencies will allow rentals to do that trip.  On the other hand, if your like me, you may want to set out on one of the many day trips that are offered for this particular area and enjoy the trip in an air conditioned mini bus. The trip I took was a full days excursion that included plenty of stops.

Road to Hana

Kaanapali Beach

Kaanapali Beach was once named America’s Best Beach with its 3 miles of white sand and crystal clear water. On this renown beach you will find hotels and resorts, as well as the Whaler Villages which houses a world-class shopping complex featuring exceptional shops and restaurants. You might even see a breaching whale as you try to set up a shot at either the Royal Kaanapali or Kaanapali Kai championship golf courses.

Enjoy one of the beaches most famous attractions while your here. Every evening at sunset a cliff diver lights a path along the beach’s northernmost cliffs known as Puu Kakaa or Black Rock. After which he dives off as a reenactment of a feat by Maui’s revered King Kahekile.

Kaanapali Beach and Black Rock

Wailea Beach

Wailea Beach is a resort area home to an award-winning tennis center as well as three beautiful world-class golf courses. You will find plenty of snorkeling and diving in this area as well.

Wailea isn’t just known for their beaches. You are in the right place if you enjoy great dining, browsing art galleries and shops. Who knows, you may even spot a celebrity or two on your ventures.

Wailea

Iao Valley State Park

This is a must see for all visitors. The sacred mountain was once forbidden to all but royalty. The valley and streams are filled with stories and legends.  This area is important both historically and spiritually to the Hawaiian people.

Iao Valley State Park

Enjoy the .6 mile scenic walk where you can view the Iao Needle this is an erosional feature which abruptly rises 1200 feet from the valley floor.

Winter Escape

Maui offers a variety of accommodations as well as dinning options for all taste. You can spend your days lying in a lounge chair at your beachfront hotel enjoying the gentle lapping of the waves.  Maybe add a little bit of sight seeing and enjoy nature as it was meant to be enjoyed.  I personally enjoy renting a car and each day driving in a different direction so that I can uncover all the hidden treasures on my adventures.

Everyones vacation is different, make it your Dream Vacation.

About Me

About Me

I love to travel. It can be anywhere. A resort vacation or a long ride down the coast. Even a day trip to Cape Cod. It is all about the adventure, visiting new places and meeting new people.

My tale begins going on long joy rides as a child. My father loved to go for rides in the family van. We would go to the local state park for picnics and pick up pine cones or blueberries depending on the season. Or take a drive down RT140 and stop at their rest area for a picnic. Anything to get out on the road and travel.

Twice a year we would drive to Canada to visit family. (Something he would do every weekend when he was younger man. ) We would make our way traveling north through New Hampshire or Vermont depending on his travel route. Once we even went through Maine. Sometimes we would stop over night instead of making the direct 6 hour drive.

As I write this I am reminded of all the fun times I had as a child on those excursions.  This is what I want to be able to do for others, help them make lasting memories of their journeys.

The Travel Agent

It all started when I took a Travel and Tourism course right after High School.  As I said earlier, I had done a lot of road trips as a child with my family.  I wanted not only to do some traveling myself but to live the experience through those  I would help travel to the places they always wanted to go to.

Some of you may be too young to know this, but there was a time when people actually went to a Travel Agency to plan their upcoming trip.  They relied on the agents  experiences as well as  knowledge of the locations they were interested in traveling to.

Offering My Expertise

I want to help people find the best possible deals available. Offer them exciting destinations from reliable Tour Operators or Cruise Lines. Give them information prior to their departure of excursions that are available to them while they are away.

Dreams Come True

The purpose of this website is to help people plan and book their Dream Vacation making their dreams a reality.

It is a satisfying feeling to know that you helped someone have the time of their lives. Whether it is helping them with setting up their wedding, or maybe it was the first time they took their child to Disney.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Denise
